Ridgeway to create new Oxford Instruments web site
Oxford Instruments plc, a leading provider of high technology tools and systems for industry and research, has commissioned Witney web agency, Ridgeway, to design and build a new web site to support their ever-expanding business.

The breadth and depth of the applications for Oxford Instruments’ products and the global nature of their operation presents a truly unique challenge for the Ridgeway team. The web site is managed by several sales and marketing teams based in the UK, Germany and the USA, so a solution able to accommodate the needs of each area of Oxford Instruments’ business is essential. The new web site will also adhere fully to the company’s new brand guidelines.
Ridgeway will replace Oxford Instruments’ existing Microsoft Sharepoint web site with a completely new solution based on Kentico’s customer experience management platform – Kentico EMS. The solution will feature a complete design refresh and will include all the necessary tools to allow each sales and marketing team to manage their own web site content and to then analyse and understand how to improve the user experience across the web site. Ridgeway are one of the UK’s leading Kentico Gold Partners.
Lynn Shepherd, Group Director of Communications at Oxford Instruments said: “Ridgeway’s proposed solution was exactly what we’re looking for. It is important that the different areas of our business have enough autonomy to market their products to their customers and the ability understand how to do this better. Based on the experience and expertise they were able to demonstrate in this area, we are confident Ridgeway will deliver a solution which will help us achieve our ambitions and bring our products to the attention of even more customers across the world.”
Simon Lassam, Managing Director at Ridgeway said: “We’re delighted to have been selected to undertake such a significant redesign of the Oxford Instruments web site. It’s a project which needs to deliver a better experience for web site users but which also needs to provide Oxford Instruments’ internal marketing teams with better control and understanding of their content. This is undoubtedly a challenge, but one which the Ridgeway team are perfectly equipped to take on. We’re looking forward to delivering a solution which genuinely makes a difference to the way Oxford Instruments use the web to generate business and which changes the way their customers perceive them.”
