A bespoke job tracking, approval and reporting system for one of the UK’s leading commercial car valeting companies

The brief

Star Valeting Group are a commercial car valeting company who valet vehicles on a contract basis at dealerships throughout the UK. They approached Ridgeway seeking an online solution which would allow clients to request and approve valets through an easily-understood interface and, at the same time, provide a task-management system for their own staff.

What we did

Working with Star Valeting’s senior management team, we defined and documented the solution requirements and proposed a bespoke approach which would allow every aspect the solution to be tailored to Star’s individual needs.  We then designed a custom user interface and spent significant time ensuring it would be easy to understand for non-technical users by implementing logical information presentation and processes.

Developed using bespoke ASP.Net code and a Microsoft SQL Server database, the solution was launched to Star Valeting’s clients only 4 weeks after the project started as a result of a fast-track development programme.

The results

A single solution now manages all of Star Valeting’s online accounts. Dealership staff and managers are able to log and approve jobs, see reports of in-progress and completed jobs and monitor overall spending on valeting.  Star’s valeters and regional managers are able to print off a full list of pending jobs with specific requirements and scheduling problems clearly marked, whilst Star’s senior management team are able to access details of any dealership at the touch of a button, providing them with a single view of all current activity across their business.

The system which Ridgeway have produced was exactly what we wanted. Delivered in double-quick time, our clients have found it easy to understand and the efficiencies it has introduced across the business are incredible
